The Girl Who Might Not Return To The Big Screen Any Time Soon

Posted on 08:28 by Unknown
The Playlist runs a great, albeit — shall we say — 'mostly speculative' piece on the possible futures of Fincher, Leagues and The Girl Who Played With Fire.

Personally, I'd prefer Fincher's take on "Leagues" over a "Dragon Tattoo" sequel any day, as I feel it would be a new facette that we haven't seen from Fincher, and with Andrew Kevin Walker and possibly Brad Pitt this is just too good not to make it to the big screen. So yeah, I'm hoping for a quick greenlight from Disney, which, as The Playlist explains, either rules out the TGWTDT sequel altogether — or causes a severe setback at the very least.

In three month's time we shall know more. Maybe.

What are you guys more excited for?

20,000 Leagues Rumors

Posted on 22:47 by Unknown
Have to say, I am really curious for Fincher tackling 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Accordingly, these news are thrilling, as besides rumoring about the film, they contain three of my favorite Fincher buzz words: Fincher, Andrew Kevin Walker, and Brad Pitt.

Seriously, this film already has so much going for it. Now, as Variety reports, Fincher tapped Brad Pitt for the role of sailor and master harpooner Ned Land.

The studio reportedly wants to arrive a decision whether to move forward with the picture in three months' time — oh, what a sweet New Year's surprise it would be!

Rest In Peace: Harris Savides

Posted on 09:46 by Unknown
Terrible news for all film lovers as it is reported DoP Harris Savides just died.

Cinematographer Adam Frisch posted this message on the Cinematography.com forum :
It's my very sad duty to report that Harris Savides has just died. Harris had been sick for awhile, but was as far as I know doing better. Don't know the final cause of death. Not only a brilliant DP and a true legend in his own time, but also by all accounts from people that knew him - a true gent.

Safe journey.

Savides was in my opinion the best cinematographer of his generation. His work on Zodiac and The Game was memorable and transcended Fincher's vision.

What he achieved on Glazer's masterpiece Birth is simply mesmerizing. I am, we are, very very sad to loose him.

Fincher Onboard "Halo 4" Trailer!

Posted on 12:31 by Unknown
The wait is over! It will be eight days for you hungry fanatics to lay your eyes on new Fincher audiovisuals: The highly anticipated trailer for HALO 4, set to debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on October 18.

Wow! Amazing news. Fincher has exec produced the two minute live-action trailer with Tim Miller directing — Fincher's VFX superhero of choice (reponsible for TGWTDT opening titles).

Great news, anyway.

Ridley Scott On RED

Posted on 01:58 by Unknown
It's funny cause it's true: In an interview with RED, Sir Ridley Scott shares how The Social Network convinced him, a decided celluloid buff, of digital cinematography — and cracks one remarkable joke. Nuff said.

Thanks to all sending this link.

Bonus

"...starring Benjamin Button." This had me cracking up laughing...
